open labs [ii]

oct + nov 2025

about labs

we are launching the second round of our open labs, an open-access initiative to meet and build relationships with performers who are interested in learning about how we make work and being considered for our future productions.

open labs are 2.5 hour workshops including movement work, ensemble building, and an exploration of theatregoose texts as a means for performers to get to know us, and us them. they are not auditions but a creative exchange. they do not require any preparation and aim to be productive and useful for all, whilst holding the potential to lead to future discussions about working with us.

labs are led by artistic director emma howlett and assisted by a member of the theatregoose ensemble.

we are excited to meet performers who are ★ interested in learning how we make our shows ★ eager to engage with our body of work ★ galvanised by our methods, approaches, and attitude towards our work.

we are looking for performers who★ have a strong propensity for movement and physical theatre★ enjoy working with new and mutable text ★ display the dexterity to make very ambitious work in a fast paced and collaborative environment.

these opportunities are - of course - free to attend, and are kindly supported by shoreditch town hall.

about the company

theatregoose is an award-winning company making bold new work that is driven by immersive design, dynamic physicality, and experimental text. we launched professionally in 2023 with our debut hit, the BBC popcorn award long-listed HER GREEN HELL (VAULT festival, summerhall, theatre royal plymouth, theatre royal bath), followed by the lustrum award-winning SISTERS THREE in 2024 (summerhall), and most recently the sell-out AETHER in 2025 (summerhall) which transfers to jermyn street theatre in 2026.

the company are resident at summerhall arts and shoreditch town hall, and artistic director emma howlett was named one of the stage’s  ‘fringe five’, the festival’s most impactful artists, in 2025.

theatregoose have two new shows in development for production across 2025/6.
